Founded in 1917, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway is an acute-care hospital providing a continuum of healthcare services to help you Get Better and Stay Better.
We offer 24-hour emergency care, a mobile intensive care unit with experienced, certified paramedics, critical care, emergency angioplasty, telemetry, cardiac, stress testing and other cardiac diagnostic testing, plus pulmonary and cardiac rehabilitation. We offer a full range of diagnostic services, as well as neurology, surgery, and a pediatric emergency room. We are a state-designated primary stroke center.
Our campus includes a 24-bed subacute hospital for patients needing rehabilitation before they return home. It also includes Kindred Hospital New Jersey - Rahway, a 36-bed long-term, acute care hospital for medically fragile patients.
The hospital is renowned for its subacute care, acute long-term care and rehabilitation services. Physical and aquatic therapy are available in our fitness centers located in Scotch Plains and Carteret. As a community hospital, we constantly evolve to meet the needs of our community, focusing on the treatment of injury and illness, as well as prevention through our community fitness centers.
