Elizagetown Gas Company & Ron Kowalczyk Honored at
RWJ Rahway Foundation's Rose Ball Goes Hollywood
“The stars came out at our Rose Ball Goes Hollywood and netted almost $115,000 for RWJ Rahway,” said Christine Kline, Rose Ball Chairman and RWJ Rahway Foundation Trustee, adding that the event recognized the outstanding commitment and dedication of Elizabethtown Gas Company and hospital Board of Governors member and former Chairman, Ron Kowalczyk.
Accepting the Order of the Rose, Don Carter, Vice President Operations, Elizabethtown Gas, thanked the hospital for this prestigious honor, and expressed the company’s continued commitment to the healthcare needs of the community.
Ron Kowalczyk was truly honored to be the recipient of the Guardians of the Rose. He thanked the Foundation for their hard work and dedication in their fund raising efforts on behalf of RWJ Rahway. He also acknowledged the dedication and commitment of his colleagues on the Hospital Board of Governors and hospital administration for their tremendous efforts to ensure the hospital’s mission of high quality health care to its patients and the community. Mr. Kowalczyk has served on the hospital Board since 1985.
The Foundation thanked the many special sponsors who supported the event, including the three Rose Sponsors, Elizabethtown Gas Company, Merck & Co., Inc. and RSI Bank. Other special sponsors included Northfield Bank, Emergency Medical Associates of NJ; QualCare, Inc.; K & L Gates, Sodexo, New York Radiology Alliance; ConocoPhillips – Bayway Refinery, Rahway Pathology, P.A. and Rahway Regional Cancer Center.
The annual Rose Ball Super 50/50 Raffle reached $17,400 and the lucky first prize winner received $4,350. “The Rose Ball Committee would especially like to thank our hospital family, Board members, Medical/Dental staff members, and community residents who supported our 50/50 raffle,” said Chairman Kline.
Guests entered on the red carpet at the Hotel Westminster in Livingston, which set the stage for them to enjoy a wonderful cocktail reception complete with “Marilyn Monroe” and “James Dean,” followed by dinner. Dancing to the music of Steppin’ Out added to the splendid event. The honorees and committee members enjoyed a special by invitation only reception immediately proceeding the cocktail hour. Giving Clubs
The Foundation offers Giving Club packages, which include all events, annual giving and capital projects. Participants can “create their own” package with the events that interest them and/or annual donations. All gifts benefit the programs, services and facilities of RWJ Rahway. Recognition is given to participants in the hospital’s quarterly publication, “The Rose” and in all special event journals and programs (whether you are participated in that particular event or not). Donations of $1,000 or more are listed on the Donor Recognition Wall in the hospital’s lobby and you are invited to a special champagne reception for the unveiling.
