Rahway – Kindred Hospital New Jersey-Rahway, a long-term acute care hospital caring for patients with complex medical needs, has achieved accreditation from the Joint Commission.
Joint Commission accreditation means that the 34-bed Kindred unit passed rigorous standards for patient care and safety. The accreditation came after a three-day inspection of all three Kindred facilities in the state.
“This is an important distinction for this facility, for our patients and their families. It means we met the highest standards of care,” said Kindred Rahway CEO Janet Biedron. Kindred Rahway has been in operation at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway since 2004. Louisville-based Kindred Healthcare operates three long-term acute care facilities in New Jersey with a combined licensed bed capacity of 117 beds.
Kindred Hospital Rahway is a “hospital within a hospital” located on the fourth floor of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway. Specializing in the care of medically complex patients, it makes use of RWJUHR’s speech, occupational and physical therapies, lab, radiology, nutrition and other services.
