What’s to Eat: Food Programs for National Diabetes Awareness Month
Rahway – Holidays can be tough for people with diabetes. In recognition of Diabetes Awareness Month in November, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital is hosting a cooking series and holiday taste testing for people with diabetes.
Diabetes cooking classes, featuring Chef Nicole Brandenburg, RD, will be held November 6, 13, 20 and 27th at the RWJ Rahway Fitness & Wellness Center. The cooking series is open to non-fitness center members. The program features meal planning, techniques and cooking tips demonstrated in the test kitchen of the RWJ Rahway Fitness Center, 2120 Lamberts Mill Road, Scotch Plains. Learn carbohydrate counting, portion size, how to read a label, flavor combinations and healthy snacks, treats and easy eats. The cost is $10 per class. The free, popular Holiday Taste Testing will be held Thursday, November 8 from 7 pm to 8:30 pm at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway.
