ROBERT WOOD JOHNSON RAHWAY RECEIVES FIVE STAR RATING FROM U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT
PUBLICATION HONORS HOSPITAL FOR ITS REHABILITATION CARE FACILITY
RAHWAY, N.J., Feb. 21, 2011 – Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway announced today it has recently received a five star rating from the U.S. News & World Report’s 2011 Best Nursing Homes.
RWJ Rahway, an acute-care community hospital in Rahway, N.J. has a separately licensed rehabilitation facility on campus that competed against more than 15,000 quality rehabilitation care facilities across the United States for this honor in a category that affects millions of elderly Americans and their families.
“We respect how important it is for people to know their loved ones are well taken care of in the highest quality care facility available,” explained Kirk Tice, president of RJW Rahway. “At RWJ Rahway, the health, happiness and well-being of our patients are our first priority and that dedication is reflected in our U.S. News & World Report ranking.”
U.S. News works with data from Nursing Home Compare, a website run by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which assigns a rating between one and five stars to a specified nursing home or rehabilitation care facility. The facility is then assigned a star number based on information gathered from three categories: health inspections, nurse staffing and quality of care.
State-wide rankings of U.S. News’ Best Nursing Homes are released each quarter, and the nursing homes in each state are arranged in tiers by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ star rating.
