- Neurosurgical services within two hours either at RWJ Rahway or through a partner agreement with a comprehensive stroke center.

Stroke is the third leading cause of death in the United States, affecting more than 700,000 Americans each year. On average, every 4 minutes someone dies of stroke.
Stroke is a type of vascular disease that affects the arteries leading to and within the brain. It can be caused either by a clot obstructing the flow of blood to the brain or by a blood vessel rupturing and causing bleeding to the brain.
