We’re with you every step of the way.
If you’re considering knee or hip replacement, The Joint Replacement Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway provides an experienced team to help you before, during, and after surgery.
We provide the education, clinical expertise, therapy and individual support you’ll need to reduce your pain, restore function and improve quality of life.
Our center offers total knee replacement, minimally invasive partial knee replacement, and total and partial hip replacement. Our surgeons are board certified and have extensive experience in joint replacement and minimally invasive techniques.
We are with you every step of the way with pre and post procedure education, expert physical therapy and nursing care. Our goal is helping you meet your goal.
The Experience
Our center is different. As part of your recovery, we involve your family or friends as “coaches,” to help motivate you. You’ll heal alongside those who have had similar procedures.
Staff
Our staff consists of a joint care coordinator, board-certified surgeons and physiatrists, specialized nursing care, licensed occupational and physical therapists, and case managers to help you make the transition from hospital to a pain-free, active life.
Our Center’s Medical Director is David Rojer, MD, a board certified orthopedic surgeon.
After Your Surgery
After your discharge, we offer extensive outpatient physical and occupational therapy at the center. Our therapists are consistently praised for their listening, teaching, and motivational skills. If you need, the hospital provides complimentary transportation services to qualified patients to continue outpatient physical therapy at the hospital.
For your convenience, expert outpatient physical therapy is also available at the RWJ Rahway Fitness & Wellness Center in Scotch Plains.
Should you need more recovery time, there is a specialized unit called Care Connection at Robert Wood Rahway, which offers the nursing and rehabilitation you need to regain your independence, until you are safe and comfortable to return to your home environment.
Joint Replacement patients and their coaches celebrate mobility with a
special reunion luncheon for patients held at the hospital June 18. In
addition to the medical director, patients had the opportunity to see their
nurses, nursing assistants and physical therapists.
