Food & Nutrition Services
At Your Request Room Service Dining Program
Sodehxo provides the hospital’s food services. RWJUH Rahway has a
room service-style meal system. Patients may call ext. 6325 to order
their meals. A menu with a variety of selections is located on each
bedside table or in the folder slots on the wall. Meals will typically take
45 minutes to arrive after a call has been placed.
A Hospitality Services Representative will visit each patient upon
arrival to review ordering procedures and address any food service
needs.
Meals may be ordered any time between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
SUGGESTED ORDERING SCHEDULE
Breakfast: 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
Lunch: 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Dinner: 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
If a patient is on a Therapeutic Diet their selections will be limited to the
foods that their diet allows. The Nutrition Services operator will advise
the patient of their menu restrictions. Every effort will be made to
conform to each patient’s culinary preferences. Patients should contact a
dietitian with any questions or problems concerning their diet. Dietitians
will provide nutrition counseling on therapeutic diets.
Guest trays are available at a nominal charge by calling ext. 2086. Visitors
may also eat in the cafeteria on the first floor. Cafeteria hours are 6:30 am -
7:45 pm.
