Rahway – A new breast cancer support group will begin October 3 at the RWJ Rahway Fitness & Wellness Center in Scotch Plains. The group is open to those who are newly diagnosed patients, as well as those who have been living with breast cancer.
The group will meet the first Wednesday of each month from 7:30 pm to 9 pm at the center, which is located at 2120 Lamberts Mill Road.
The group’s facilitator is Mindy Cohen, an Advance Practice Nurse specializing in mental health, who also serves as Clinical Director of Partial Care and Training at West Bergen Mental Healthcare in Ridgewood.
For more than ten years, Ms. Cohen has facilitated therapeutic groups, including breast cancer support groups though the Pathways Breast Cancer Program at Overlook Hospital. She is a Certified Group Psychotherapist through the American Group Psychotherapy Association.
