Caregivers: Are YOUR Needs Being Met?

Scotch Plains – The Caregiver Support Group at RWJ Rahway Fitness & Wellness Center is hosting a special program on caregiver needs on Wednesday, December 7 at 6 pm at the RWJ Rahway Fitness & Wellness Center in Scotch Plains.

During this program, caregivers will learn how to identify their needs and get them met to avoid caregiver burnout. They will also learn communication techniques, and how and where to look for help. The program is open to caregivers of spouses or elderly parents.

The program features Amy Matthews, Associate Director of Late-Stage Dementia Care, Education and Outreach for the Greater New Jersey Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Ms. Matthews develops and implements education and outreach programs in 14 counties for the Alzheimer’s Association.

The program is free and open to all, but registration is required. To register, call 732-499-6118.

The Caregiver Support Group meets the first Wednesday of each month at 6 pm at the center.
